The Government of Tamil Nadu created a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for implementing the Chennai Metro Rail Project. This SPV named as “Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL)” was incorporated on 03-12-2007 under the Companies Act. It has been converted into a Joint Venture of Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu with equal equity holding. Must be a B.E/B.Tech in Electronics / Electronics Communication / Computer Science or MCA. Minimum 10 years experience .He must have good knowledge of Microsoft environment, knowledge on Oracle 11g or higher, Veritas NBU 7.1, Windows 2008, Server Administration / Windows 7, IBM HALMP, Redhat Enterprise, Linux 5.6 Advance Platform, Network Administration, C + +, C & Web Application.He must have fluency in English and good presentation skills. Out of 10 years experience, 3 to 5 years of experience in Embedded Systems, Data Processing,Cross Compilation is essential. He will function as Software System Engineer , in-charge of the System support for the Automatic Fare Collection System. He will be responsible for networking of the various components of the AFC System like Central Computer, Station Computers as well as Station Equipment softwares, diagnose abnormal workings of the System and get corrections done through the AFC Vendor, install new software’s into the System as and when required, etc. Knowledge on Active Directory Parameters, Networking Components and Fire Wall is desirable. Knowledge on assessment and practices of standards and ability to evaluate urban properties and basic knowledge on law and rules related to maintenance of buildings, is required

Shunting Drivers

Qualification: Minimum qualification is ITI Trade Certificate from a recognised institution. Preference will be given for candidates possessing a 3 year Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Communication & related disciplines.

Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in driving diesel shunting locomotive / Main line Diesel locomotive in Indian Railway.

Job of Diesel Locomotive Driver includes making the movement of Diesel Locomotive inside the Depot as per orders of OCC/DCE/Station Safety, attaching and detaching of locomotive to / from Train Rakes for shunting movement of coaches from one line to another. If required, he will have to take Diesel Locomotive from Depot on to the mainline to clear crippled rake if any to the depot. He shall be responsible to see that the Diesel Locomotive is in good working conditions during his duty. He must be well versed in normal trouble-shooting activities related to Diesel locos.
Age: Not exceeding 58 years as on date of advertisement.

Candidate at present working in Indian Railways will have to obtain resignation/voluntary retirement from Railways without delay, if selected.
Duration of Post: For 3 years on contract, extendable if required.

Train Operator / Instructor

Qualification: Matriculation plus three years diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering or Electrical Power Systems or Industrial Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent qualification from a Govt. Recognised University/Institute.
Experience: Minimum 10 years experience in driving EMU / Electrical. Locomotive in Indian Railways or 3 years driving experience in Metro Trains operation.
Candidates who have worked as Loco Inspectors/Instructors would be preferred.
He/ She shall report at the nominated place as per the link/roster or advise of Crew Controller, at least half an hour before scheduled departure of the train from the place. He shall be sober and shall be equipped with full complements of equipments supplied to him. He shall ensure that rake for revenue service is properly certified for the purpose by depot supervisor and that the cab other than the working cab has been closed and locked properly before proceeding to working cab. He also shall ensure availability of train log book in the rake. He shall be responsible to run the train safely and report any unusual to TC/ACHC in case of any unusual without delay. He shall maintain speed restrictions as per directions given to him.

General Conditions:

2. Age, Qualification & experience stipulated above should be as on the date of advertisement. The candidates are advised to ensure while applying that they fulfil the eligibility criteria and other requirements mentioned and that the particulars furnished by them are correct in all respects. In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment process that the candidate does not fulfil the eligibility criteria and / or does not comply with other requirements of this advertisement and / or he / she has furnished any incorrect or false information or has suppressed any material fact, his / her candidature is liable to be rejected. 3. Post No.1 & 2 are on permanent basis and confirmation will be based on performance on completion of the prescribed probation period. Whereas Post No.3 & 4 are on Contract basis.
