Indian Coast Guard offers various job opportunities as officer and Enrolled Personnel to the young and educated youth of the country by conducting recruitment in different categories as Officers, Yantrik(Diploma Holder) Navik(General Duty)/(Domestic Branch).

Applications are invited from male Indian nationals possessing educational qualifications and age, as prescribed below, for recruitment to the post of Yantrik in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union.

Coast Guard offers excellent opportunity for diploma holders in Mechanical Electrical, Electronic and Aeronautical branches of engineering . The Yantriks are backbone of Coast Guard and responsible for operating and maintaining the machinery and equipment fitted on Indian Coast Guard ships and aircrafts.

Pay scale : Rs. 5200-20200 with Grade Pay Rs.2400 ( In addition Dearness Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance and other liberal allowances as approved by Govt.)

Age : 18-22 years (5 years relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC )

Qualification :Matriculate and Diploma in Mechanical /Electrical /Electronics/ Aeronautical Engineering.( Matriculate and three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic Engg. recognised by AICTE with 60% marks in aggregate)

Physical Standard :
Height 157 cms,
Weight Proportionate to Height
Eye sight 6/12 and 6/24

Selection Procedure:- (a) Candidates are required to appear at the Venue with the following documents:
(i) Two copy of pre-filled online application.
(ii) Original certificate of tenth class for date of birth verification.
(iii) Original mark sheet and certificates of three year diploma.
(iv) Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, voter I card, college ID card or any other photo identity proof.
(v) Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt of India format.
(vi) Two recent colour passport size photographs.

(b) Those who qualify written test will undergo PFT, interview and recruitment Medical Examination (Preliminary), The testing procedure will take 3-4 days.

(c) The question paper will contain questions from their respective discipline (Mechanical /Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication) in bilingual.

(d) The Physical Fitness Test will be conducted for all those who pass the written
test. The PFT will consist as under:-

* 1.6 Km run to be completed in 6 minutes 30 seconds.
* 20 squat ups (Uthak Baithak)
* 10 Push ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk.

(e) Candidates those who qualify the above tests will be required to undergo initial recruitment medical examination at the respective recruitment centre.

(f) The select list will be prepared from the candidates who qualify in all the tests depending upon the available vacancies. The All India select list of candidates will be displayed in the Indian Coast Guard Website in the month of Jan 13.


Applications will be accepted 'Online only' from 03 Sep to 17 Sep 12. To do so, the candidates need to log in to the Website

The last date of applying online is 17 September 2012.

After submitting the form an acknowledgement with a Registration number, venue and date of test will be provided to the candidate. The filled Application Form, with the number generated will be available to the candidate to save and take a print.

After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two copies of the application with number generated by the system. Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph are to be carried by the applicant to the testing centre. Out of the two copies one copy enclosed with photocopies of all required documents i.e. class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, three year diploma certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects and percentage of marks, caste certificate wherever required and NCC certificate/games certificate duly attested by the Gazetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate and submitted at the examination centre. Second copy without any enclosure is to be kept with the candidate as an identity proof during the selection procedure.

The written test/ interview will be conducted on 08 - 11 October 2012 at exam centers given in advertisement
