Unified Communication Specialist – CISCO     (Position 1)

Short Description:
Under general direction of the Operation Head, provides leadership and supervision to a group who is responsible for developing and implementing information technology initiatives that support the strategic objectives of Unified Communication. Establish and direct the policies and procedures for project management methodology and defining, testing, and installing the Unified Communication technologies (CISCO)) based upon the user-defined business requirements. 

Detailed Role Explanation:


He shall be proficient in his field and work independently on assigned tasks. Receive general work directions and work according to well-established procedures. Interface with other departments and external parties as they relate to his job. Mentor and coach TEAM MEMBER and incredibly driven person to help execution of Unified Communication related project and support to the installed capacity. 

• Technical planning, requirements analysis, trade studies, cost and risk, and supportability analyses to convert customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. 
• Responsible for the staging, configuration, implementation and support of the voice upgrade project
• Candidate will set goals, monitor work, and evaluate results to ensure objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the business voice upgrade project
• Provide mentoring and training to support personnel and assist end users as necessary during upgrade and post implementation of voice upgrade
• Work with project team, customer, vendors and technical teams to prospect and develop Cisco/Avaya Unified Communications technical network upgrade plan 
• Interact with Principal Technologists and other IT personnel to ensure standards and architecture is implemented as designed 
• Maintain the highest level of availability, performance and capacity to ensure operational excellence utilizing monitoring tools and best practices
• Document the environment, systems interconnectivity and produce performance metrics
Attend and participate in internal and customer meetings


• Bachelor of Science/IT/Engineering 
• Minimum of 5 years' experience managing network VOIP infrastructure utilizing Cisco/Avaya solutions, Cisco CCNP-Voice ,PBAX
• Certified Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) 
• In-depth knowledge of "traditional" voice communications systems and applications.
• Ability to reason and think logically
• Strong attention to detail in regards to project planning and documentation.
• Strong organizational and collaboration skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and with written documentation
• Exceptional work ethic
• Display willingness to help others, a pleasant personality, a courteous manner, and a professional demeanor

• Must know VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP, TFTP and related).
• Strong working knowledge of current VoIP technologies and their implementations, from edge elements (ATAs) to core network elements (Soft Switch, Gateway, Softphone, etc.). 
• Working knowledge of access network issues that impact VoIP performance as well as their measurement and analysis
• Strong working knowledge of data communications and Internet knowledge including:
o TCP/UDP/IP, routing, tunneling, and P
o MS Visio and MS Office
o Experience with network monitoring tool
