The Company is also undertaking many mining operations abroad and joint ventures.

In order to meet the challenges, Coal India requires young, energetic and dynamic persons as Management Trainees in different disciplines. The details are as under -

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Discipline Qualification
Mining, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical/Mineral, Electronics & Telecommunications, Industrial Engg. Minimum 60% marks in BE/ B.Tech/ AMIE/B.Sc (Engg.) in relevant branch of Engineering

Systems Minimum 60% marks in BE/ B.Tech/ BSc. (Engg) in Computer Science/ Computer Engg. / IT or MCA with minimum 60% marks.

Geology M. Sc/ M. Tech. in Geology or Applied Geology with minimum 60% marks
Materials Management Engineering degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with MBA/ PG Diploma in Management with minimum 60% marks.

Personnel & HR Graduates with at least two years full time Post Graduate degree /PG Diploma/Post Graduate Program in Management with specialization in HR/Industrial Relations/Personnel Management or MHROD or MBA or Master of Social work with specialization in HR from recognized Indian University/Institutes with minimum 60% marks.

Legal Graduate in Law of 3yrs/5yrs duration from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 60% marks
Sales & Marketing Recognised degree with MBA /PG Diploma in Management with specialization in Marketing (major) from Institute / University with minimum 60% marks

Rajbhasha (Hindi) MA in Hindi with minimum 60% marks and Graduation with Hindi and English as main subjects with minimum 50% marks


SELECTION PROCESS
Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the All India Selection Test at their own expenses and only candidates qualifying in the written test will be called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping in view the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH. Management reserves the right to shortlist the candidates for written test also.

Test Centers: The written test will be held at Kolkata, Ranchi, Mumbai, Bhubaneshwar, Srinagar, Guwahati, Raipur, Bhopal, Lucknow, Delhi, Jaipur, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bangluru and Chennai- as mentioned in the online application. Candidates will have to choose one test center preferred from the list and the same cannot be changed after the form is submitted. However, Coal India reserves the right to cancel or add any test center or change the center chosen by the candidate.

Written Test: The written test shall be of three (03) hours duration comprising of 2 papers both of which will be in the form of multiple choice questions (MCQs). Paper I will consist of MCQs on General Awareness & Aptitude and Paper II will consist of MCQs on Technical aptitude in the relevant discipline for which the candidate applies. Each paper shall consist of 100 questions with 100 marks. The questions of the test will be bilingual (English and Hindi).


HOW TO APPLY

Eligible candidates have to apply only through the online registration system of Coal India. To apply, visit the careers with CIL section of our website www.coalindia.in and you should have a valid e-mail id while applying, which should be valid for one year.

The site will remain functional from 10:00 am of 21st May 2012 to 11:59 PM of 11th June 2012. However, the candidates should complete the on line application at the earliest in order to avoid site congestion.

Candidates will have to apply for only for one discipline for which he/she is eligible.

Candidates willing to apply must first download and print the SBI Challan form from CIL's web portal for submitting the application fee.

Candidates will have to register for the online application before starting to fill the application form. On clicking the "Apply Online" link the registration page will open. Detailed instructions for filling the form will be given under the "Instructions" link above the Registration page.

Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfill all the eligibility criteria and norms mentioned in this advertisement.
Before starting to fill the online application form candidates should keep the application fee payment through SBI challan details ready.

After applying online, candidate is required to print the application form with unique registration number generated by the system. Candidates are required to send the hard copy of the application form along with required enclosures(self attested recent passport size photograph securely pasted in the space provided on the application form, Company's copy of the SBI challan (in original), qualifying degree provisional or degree certificate, caste/disability certificate wherever applicable by ordinary post only to: Post Bag No. 43 G.P.O, Kolkata-700001 on or before 18th June 2011. Please superscribe the envelop on top as " MT-(Discipline name)". It is important to note that, your candidature will be considered only if we receive the hard copy of the application forms along with the required certificates/enclosures on or before the last date. All candidates are advised to note that, CIL or subsidiary company offices will not accept any hard copy applications and it must be mailed to post bag address only.

Candidates are advised to keep several copies of the passport size photograph pasted by them on the application form, handy since the same photograph is to be used for subsequent documents, if shortlisted for interview.

The company will not be responsible for any postal delay/loss in transit in submission of documents within specified time.
If a candidate cannot fill the online application form in single attempt, he / she can log in again and complete filling from the last saved status. However, candidates must complete filling the form and submit the same before 11:59 PM of 11th June 2012 i.e. the last date for online application and hard copies to reach before the last date specified above.

1. Assistant Professor: Ph.D. with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record and at least three years of post-Ph.D.

Industrial/Research/Teaching experience.
Candidates not satisfying eligibility requirement for direct recruitment as Assistant Professor may be put on tenure track as Assistant Professor (on-contract). Candidates should have Ph.D. and first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout.

2. Associate Professor: Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of six years of teaching / industry / research experience, of which at least three years’ experience, should be at the level of Assistant Professor / Senior Scientific Officer / Senior Design Engineer.

3. Professor: Ph.D. degree with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of ten years of experience, of which at least four years should be at the level of Associate Professor in any of the following Institutions: IIT, IISc Bangalore, IIM, NITIE Mumbai or IISER, or at an equivalent level in any such Indian or Foreign Institution of comparable standards as may be decided by IIT Indore.



PAYSCALE:
1. Assistant Professor (On-contract): Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600 - 39,100) with seventeen non-
compounded advance increments (minimum starting pay of Rs. 26,620/-) with Academic
Grade Pay of Rs. 6,000/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band is
Rs 62,987/- p.m. They will move after 1 year to Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 7,000/- p.m. in
PB-3. And the total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be Rs 66,706/- p.m.

2. Assistant Professor: Minimum pay of Rs. 30,000/- in Pay Band-3 (Rs. 15,600 - 39,100)
with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 8,000/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in
pay band is Rs 72,940/- p.m. On completion of 3 years service as Assistant Professor, shall
move to Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37,400 - 67,000) with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 9,000/- p.m.
And the total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be Rs 88,480/- p.m.

3. Associate Professor: To be appointed in Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37,400 - 67,000) with Academic
Grade Pay of Rs. 9,500/- p.m. For direct recruits, minimum pay in the Pay Band-4 will be
fixed at Rs. 42,800/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be
Rs 99,395/- p.m.

4. Professor: To be appointed in Pay Band-4 (Rs. 37,400 - 67,000) with Academic Grade
Pay of Rs. 10,500/- p.m. For direct recruits, minimum pay in the Pay Band will be fixed at
Rs. 48,000/- p.m. The total emoluments in the minimum of pay in pay band will be
Rs 1,10,865/- p.m.

The LA will report administratively, on a day-to-day basis to the Director and Head of the concerned TB Lab and shall functionally be under the direct supervision of the TB Lab-in-Charge.

(1) General cleaning and washing of glassware, microscopes and other instruments;

FIND has progressed diagnostic approaches that have been proven in principle and transformed them into effective products for identifying TB in partnership with academia, public and private research institutes and industry.

Headquartered in Geneva and represented in India through a Liaison Office at Delhi, FIND facilitates the development and implementation of diagnostic tools for poverty-ridden diseases. The foundation is presently engaged in the development of new diagnostic techniques for TB, Malaria and Sleeping Sickness (HAT), across the world and specifically for MDR-TB, in India.

3. JOB DESCRIPTION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

The LT will report administratively, on a day-to-day basis to the Director and Head of the concerned TB Lab and shall functionally be under the direct supervision of the TB Lab-in-Charge.

The LT will primarily assist the Lab- in-Charge in the implementation of WHO approved newer TB diagnostics, including diagnosis of drug resistance.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Performance of LPA and LC tests on patient specimens at the lab, in a timely manner;
(2) Managing clinical and laboratory aspects of the lab and ensuring collection, recording and reporting of clean, quality, data;
(3) Acquiring expertise in approved newer diagnostics tests such as LPA, LC and RS;
(4) Implementing the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for TB laboratories, including SOPs for specific aspects of LPA, LC and RS and specifications for equipment, infection control, etc, to ensure Good Laboratory Practices (GLP);
(5) Providing support to the Lab-in-Charge for all laboratory operations including regular MIS functioning, maintenance of all lab equipments, logistics of various lab consumables, etc.;
(6) Conducting day to day lab activities connected with the newer TB diagnostics, ensuring quality control;
(7) Assisting the lab in-charge in providing monthly / quarterly and annual reports in the prescribed formats;
(8) Urgently reporting all adverse events in laboratory functioning to the Lab in-Charge and FIND India Technical Team;
(9) Liaising and facilitating the FIND India Technical Team on all technical matters relating to laboratory functioning, in consultation with the Lab-in-Charge;
(10) Undertaking any other job assigned by state authorities and the FIND India technical team, as per project need.





4. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualifications:

Applicant must meet the following qualification requirements:

(1) Bachelor Degree in Science with a specialization in Microbiology/ Biotechnology or higher qualification; OR
(2) Diploma in Medical Lab Technology.

Experience:

(1) Applicants with Diploma in Medical Lab Technology must possess a minimum of three years work experience in TB Culture and DST or Rapid TB diagnostics;
(2) Candidates with experience in Rapid TB diagnostics shall be given preference.

Skills and Attitude:

(1) Good oral and written communication skills;
(2) Strong team orientation;
(3) Ability to work independently, with minimum handholding and supervision;

The DEO shall report administratively, on a day-to-day basis to the Director and Head of the concerned TB Lab and functionally be under the direct supervision of the TB Lab-in-Charge.

The primary responsibility of the DEO shall be to assist the Lab-in-Charge in data management, analysis, recording and reporting, including the maintenance of lab MIS.

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Acquiring expertise in protocols of various FIND projects, relating to data management;
(2) Ensuring completeness of all data fields in the Lab registers and electronic databases, including data on logistics;
(3) Ensuring the accuracy of data entered into the Lab Databases; 
(4) Ensuring regular and timely entry of all relevant data pertaining to various aspects of FIND projects, into the computer in a systematic manner, to facilitate its analysis;
(5) Ensuring timely transmission of lab results to concerned service providers, state officials and the FIND Medical Officer, in consultation with the lab authorities;
(6) Analyzing data and compiling reports for the lab.
(7) Maintaining and up keeping of all computers and accessories in the Laboratory, including the installation and regular updation of antivirus, operating system software, etc.;
(8) Undertaking any other job assigned by state authorities and the FIND India Technical Team, as per project need.





4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:      

Qualification:

XII pass with a Diploma/ Certificate (minimum six months duration) in Computer Applications from a reputed institute.

Experience:

Candidates having one year's prior experience of data entry and data management shall be given preference.

Skills:

(1) Typing speed of 40 w.p.m. in English and local language;
(2) Data entry speed minimum 8000 key depressions/hour;
(3) Proficient in IT and computer operations, including MS Office applications like Word, Excel, Outlook, etc;
(4) Working knowledge of statistical packages is desirable.
